Many of us have goals and dreams for our lives, both short term and long term. Even if we haven’t formally written them down, we may have them in our minds. These goals may include buying a car, saving for a down payment on a home, retiring early, getting a college degree, or helping our children get a college degree.

Often times, we dream but we don’t have much hope to achieve the dreams because of our current financial situation. We may want to improve our situation but don’t have much hope of changing it without increasing our debt. Hopelessness creeps in and we just don’t know what to do.

One easy first step you can take is to attend a free workshop on Tuesday, June 13, or Thursday, June 15 at the Crystal Financial Solutions office, 11620 Arbor St., Suite 201, Omaha, NE 68144.

Both workshops will start at 7 p.m. The workshop presenter will briefly discuss how you can improve your financial situation in four key areas:

  • Your spending plan.

A spending plan is deciding ahead of time how you want to spend your money instead of wondering where it went. The problem for most people is that creating a spending plan feels like a chore.

  • Saving for emergencies.

70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. With no margin, every unplanned expense becomes a crisis. If you have emergency savings, you will feel (and actually be) more financially secure.

  • Eliminating debt.

With 24% of take home pay going to consumer debt, it’s no wonder you feel off track. If you can free up those funds, just think about how much more you could save for your future.

  • Saving for the future.

Most people don’t save for the future. Whether you are hoping to purchase a car or a house, pay for college or invest for retirement, saving over time will help make your future a better place to live.
